Not Done

Poetry with Goats is a project I started a few days after I got my first diagnosis back in March 2020. I volunteer to help look after goats in a woodland and, in the first lockdown, it seemed the, erm, obvious thing to do to read poetry to them. I may have just had a cancer diagnosis and the world may have been seemingly falling apart, but there’s always the woods, and goats and poetry.

This poem is dedicated to all the other Not Dones. In whatever way life asked you if you were done: here is an answer.

(Warning – one use of explicit language).

Episode 4 of Poetry with Goats below. Enjoy x

    1. Love you guys. When this is over – both Covid and cancer – I am SO coming for a Grand World Tour of all my dear friends and family I have been unable to see during this awful time. So, brace yourself! xx

      1. Hello Dr. Iโ€™m live in USA. I was reading your story. You have a Great support system. I will keep you in my prayers. Godโ€™s Real. My mom was DX. with cancer in the last stage. She and Our Pastor believe In God, when doctors check no cancer for over 40 years and never came back. Thank You Jesus ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

    2. We are vaccinated. My mom died 3 weeks ago. She had been failing cognitively for many months. I told Mommy about you and your fight. Showed her pictures of you try to help Caroline and me ride a horse at Fernwood cove. She had a very large bleed following a tremendous fall.
She passed without pain in an inpatient Hospice program. She was 90.
We will visit as soon as we can. Hi to you mum and dad
